RI-R6C-001A: RI-R6C-001A as a HF transmitter

Part Number: RI-R6C-001A

I want to use this chip as a HF transmitter with 25% modulation and ground the receiver part!

How do I go about doing that??

  • Hello Lusanda,

We have far newer devices than the RI-R6C-001A. I have no knowledge with that legacy device, so I can't help with your application.

Please look into if using the TRF7960A or TRF7970A would work for you. They can support ASK at 22% and 30%.
  • Hi Ralph

Unfortunately for me, I already bought the device and I was under the impression that TI provides support for every product they sell. I see I made a mistake!

Due to the time limit of my design and the shipping times, I will not be able to make another order.

    Thank you

  • Hello Lusanda,

That is typically true but devices with Recommended Alternative Parts or that are listed as Not Recommended For New Design (NRND) can have limited to no support offered. In the case of the RI-R6C-001A, it is still being used by customers who have designed it in long ago, but we have not had a new design with that device for a few years now as the TRF79xxA series of devices are vastly superior, so I have no knowledge of that device to support it. Sorry for your poor experience in this case, hopefully that information helps you avoid future problems.
  • Hello Lusanda,

You may check the page 38 with the following data sheet.
