Hi,

I am looking forward to measure the performances of each channel for a specific link. What I am planning to do is to embed the channel ID in the payload, so that I can measure how many of the packets, sent using different frequencies, actually reach the receiver. By comparing the number between RX and TX (for each channel), I should be able to compute the PER for every channel.

I am OK with any hopping algorithm. I just need the 2.4 GHz frequency band and OQPSK modulation.

Is there any example available in the SDK, which I can modify a little bit to achieve this?

Hi Jyotirmoy,

I don't know of any example project with channel hopping. However I'm sure you can achieve this in the application (e.g. using a for loop).

You can start from the Packet Error Rate example since it already calculates the PER.

I have two questions:

1. How can I access the channel ID which is being used for a transmission? Is there any API or data structure I can use?
2. Is channel hopping active by default? If not, how do I activate?

Hi Jyotirmoy,

Taking the RF Packet Error test as example:
1. The frequency is in RF_cmdFs.frequency
2. No, you have to make it yourself

I am looking for o-qpsk modulation in 2.4 GHz. I cannot find this mode of operation in RF Packet Error Rate.

Is this modulation technique available to cc2650 launchpad SDK? Could you please suggest me any example where I can use o-qpsk and measure the PER?

Hi Jyotirmoy,

The CC2650 does not support o-qpsk modulation.
