CC8531: How to achieve data communication between the CC8531(or MCU) and the Host, similar to Multi HID mode?

Hi,

I want to transfer data between the CC8531 and the Host such as PC and Android.

I used to achieve it on other UHF through Multi HID mode before. Can I achieve it on CC8531?

I have read each document I found, but still don't know how to do.

I really hope someone can give me a help.

It is not clear what you want to do here. CC85xx devices are using a proprietary link to transfer low latency high quality audio. They cannot communicate directly with PCs and Android devices.

Hi Fredrik,

I want to send a few bytes of data from the host to CC85XX, and get the return data from CC85XX.

These data are actually some control commands. So I can dynamically change the status of CC85XX (such as pairing and reset) with an external processor.

Because I don't want to put any button on CC85XX devices, I want CC85XX can be controlled by the application on PCs and Android devices.

Hi Chuyun,

In that case you should study the EHIF section and/or the data back channel information in the CC85xx User`s Guide.

Hi Fredrik,

I have achieved EHIF functions before. But it can only be used between protocal slave and protocol master. Could you tell me which command can receive custom data from host and send custom data to host ?

I can't find "the data back channel information" in CC85xx Family User’s Guide FW1.4.2, but find "data side-channel". Can it do the thing I want ?

Hi Chuyun,

Yes, data side channel was what I meant. It can be used to send user defined data packets over the PPW link.

I am not sure I fully understand your question, but data side channel operation is described in chapter 3.4 in the CC85xx User´s Guide?

I don't think Data Side-Channel can be used to exchange data with PC host.

Why not? You can transfer data through the data side channel to your host MCU and then further on the PC.

Why you can not use the Data side Channel ? Are you using Android as external host MCU for CC88xx, or you have an host with CC88xx, then the Host MCU is communicate with Android. What's your issue when using data side-channel?

Mr Lu,

I have an host MCU with CC85XX, then CC85XX is communicate with Android. Because CC85XX is set in USB soundcard mode.
