You can download SmartRF Studio from , CCS from and flash programmer 2 from www.ti.com/.../flash-programmer.

The address is the Out of Box instructions I am trying to follow. I get to the point of pushing the button CC1350128 the system starts to download and then goes to the error. The picture I took of the drivers downloading was while they were downloading they did complete successfully before I tried to update the firmware. I really don't know if the jumpers are correct on the board but since 3 boards do the same thing the problem is not a failed board. I don't know where to start. It is probably some kind of set up problem or missing driver.
Hi Kenneth,
Would you be able to upload the TI Cloud Agent log to this thread? The log is located here: %USERPROFILE%\ti\node\logs\
Kenneth,
I've seen the CCS install error you posted happen when a new install is started on top of an incomplete previous install. This kind of thing might happen if, for example, you start an install which later fails in a way where it does not clean up the install folder. You then try to install again into the same folder.
As you are trying to get the desktop version installed now, my suggestion would be for us to start from a known state and work from there. Can you please:
* If you are installing to the default folder (c:\ti) and you don't have anything else installed there, can you please delete this folder. Alternatively, you can just use a new (empty) folder when you start the install.
* Start a new install into a clean/empty folder - either the default c:\ti or a completely new location (say "c:\ti2")
* if this does not complete, please zip up and post the contents of the C:\ti\ccsv7\install_logs folder here.
As you have CCS installed now, I was thinking we should try to simplify the problem as much as possible. There are a couple of simple things we can do.
First, lets check what is being detected for the JTAG interface:
* Open a windows command prompt
* CD to c:\ti\ccsv7\ccs_base\common\uscif\xds110
* run "xdsdsf.exe -e" and post the result here
Next, lets try to connect to the CC1350 over JTAG using the XDS110 on the LaunchPad. To do this:
* Open the target configuration editor in CCS (View -> Target Configurations)
* Click the new target configuration icon and give the configuration a name (say "cc1350")
* In the connection drop-down, select XDS110
* in the "board or device" edit box, type cc1350. This will filter the list to display only the CC1350. Click the checkbox beside the CC1350.
* click the save button
* In the target configuration view, expand the "User Defined" part of the tree
* Right click on the name you just saved (IE "cc1350") and select "Launch Selected Configuration"
* At this point the debugger should be launched with the CC1350 configuration, but not connected to the CC1350.
* Click the connect target button in the tool bar.
Here's a video of what things would look like if a firmware update was required.
Let me know what happens along the way. Presumably something will go wrong as so the original application didn't work.
Thanks for the info. Since CCS isn't able to connect, let's go back to the xdsdfu. You need to run this tool from a windows command prompt/console window. IE, go to the start menu, type "cmd", and select cmd to open a console window.
This is what the output would look like for a working board:
C:\ti2\ccsv7\ccs_base\common\uscif\xds110>xdsdfu -e

That's probably not going to find any devices though, based on your CCS error message, but it's the next thing to look at.
