RTOS/CC1350: Switching between BLE and sub 1 Ghz without losing connection

Part Number: CC1350

Tool/software: TI-RTOS

Hello,

Is there any way to switch between BLE and sub 1 Ghz in cc1350 without losing BLE connection. The switching time from BLE to sub 1 Ghz and back to  BLE is smaller than the connection interval.

Thanks

  • Hello Saandeep ,

It is not possible to toggle between BLE connections and Sub1G during a BLE connection on the CC1350, regardless of whether the CI is longer than the switch time. The LL would not be able to maintain proper timing in this scenario.

    Best wishes
  • Hello JXS,

Thanks! With the normal switching, the battery life seems to be only 4 hrs ( with cr2032 coin cell). I am (i) transmitting 1 sample every second at 868 Mhz (ii) measuring RSSI once every second at 2.4 GHz and (iii) switching between BLE to sub 1 GHz and back once every second. The highest current draw during these operations seems to be around 7 mA (as per the spec sheets) with which I should get a battery life of at least a day. This seems to be not normal as cc1350 specs mention 10 years of battery life. Should I expect to see this behavior or is there anything wrong?

    Thanks

    Saandeep
