Can we finish this function without host MCU?

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC8531

Hello PurePath Wireless team,

Attached is simplify block diagram of my customer. Here is the questions:

1. Can we finish all these command without host mcu in base station side? The command path is Keypad-- host mcu(earphone)--SPI--CC8531(earphone)--air---(base station)CC8531--I2C--Audio device.

2. When we use host mcu to control CC8531,  should we still need to progarm CC8531 with PurePath Wireless Configurator ?  or just use EHIF command to control everything?

  • Hi,

    1.  If the base station is a USB dongle, you cans end this as custom HID reports that can be interpret by the USB host. But if the base station is not a USB device, then it only supports a limited set of commands, only volume up and down. To be able to send all of the commands you would have to use the data side channel and then you would need to use a host MCU on the base station side as well.

    2. You would still need to program the device with an application image. The main difference is that you select Host control for the operation in the Device Configuration Panel.
