  • TI Thinks Resolved

CC3000-PLATFORM: CC3000

Part Number: CC3000-PLATFORM

1. The CC3000 module is interfaced to our microcontroller through SPI. The CC3000 is able to receive the data from mobile APP (wireless data as UDP packet) and the CC3000 module is able to give the received wireless data to host microcontroller. But the CC3000 is not able to send the data through wireless. Can I know what might the issue with the module.

2. I am facing this problem with some modules only, I am already having completely working CC3000 module with the same firmware in the host controller.

  • Hi Ponnuru,

Why are you still using CC3000? it is very old and limited product.
We have 2 newer generation CC3200/CC3220 that are much more easy to use and provide much more features. They are also cheap and available in ti.com.

I already purchased CC3000 modules long back, I need to make them work. So help in finding the issue. The module is getting connected to AP i.e., SMART CONFIG process is going well. The module is able to receive the wireless data but not able to transmit the wireless data.
  • In reply to PONNURU SRINIVAS PAVAN KUMAR:

TI recommends CC3200 & CC3100 for all new and existing embedded Wi-Fi & Internet of Things applications. The New SimpleLink™ Internet-on-a-chip™ CC3200 and CC3100 solutions offer enhancements over existing TI CC3000 Wi-Fi modules. Please refer to this E2E Post for details

if you must remain using the CC3000, please refer to the WIki here ==> processors.wiki.ti.com/.../CC3000

I will consider the CC3200 for my new designs. But as I feel that there will be support from TI so I had purchased the CC3000, so help in finding the issue
