hi,

I am trying to get project 0 working on my cc3200. I was able to compile everything and run it in debug mode. The error i keep getting is

"[GENERAL EVENT] - ID=[0] Sender=[0]

Error [-3] at line [510] in function [ConfigureSimpleLinkToDefaultState]"

I configured the common.h file so that it has the SSID and Password of my network. Furthermore i changed my network to WPA/WPA2 from WPA2. Also tried with an open hotspot from my phone earlier, did not work.

Anything i am missing? I am doing all of this from my Mac, with a virtual machine running with the sdk.

Hi Ammar,

wlan_station example program should work after you followed the CC3200 Getting Started Guide.

From your error message, means there is a problem starting simplelink. I am not sure if running CCS in a virtual machine has something to do with the error.

Hi Markel,
Thank you for the reply, I followed the tutorial, and keep getting the same error. The ccs is running on mac, just the sdk files and projects are from a drive mounted by the virtual machine since the sdk cannot be installed on mac os x.
The jumper configuration is as shown in the tutorial, all projects compile without errors, some generate a couple warning messages with paths like:

oslib: Description Resource Path Location Type
Invalid project path: Include path not found (/Users/admin/workspace_v6_1_3/oslib\..). oslib pathentry Path Entry Problem

The oslib configuration is ti_rtos as instructed, for simplelink I tried with the standard OS configuration and the debug one.
Compiler version that I am using is TI v15.12.1.LTS. For some projects i needed to change the compiler since they were created for older versions.

Hi, I'm having the same issue with our prototype board.
I can successfully run the wlanstation program via the debugger on my CC3200MOD launchpad development board.
It successfully connects to my AP and pings the server. HOWEVER...when I connect the JTAG over to my custom board and run the application....
it hangs for a while and then sends out the "[GENERAL EVENT] - ID=[0] Sender=[0]

Error [-3] at line [510] in function [ConfigureSimpleLinkToDefaultState]" over the serial port. As stated above this implies an issue with the simple link interface starting up.

Can you think of any specific issues that would cause this to happen on my chip?
Both the Launchpad and My device CC3200MOD's have been updated with the latest SDK via UNIFLASH.

Before trying to download/update programs... Have you tryied to go to device manager e confirm that the device is in port com34? I fixed that and the error's gone :)

Hi,

I am 100% sure that this issue Error [-3] at line [510] have nothing to do with COM port number. COM port number of debugger (and secondary serial interface) depends on how many COM port you have allocated at your computer. For example on my first PC I have port numbers 3, 4 and at 2nd PC 8,9.

Ok, Jan. I was pretty sure too... But then, I went to the device manager, changed it to comm 34 and then my device begun to work. maybe you should give it a try...
