Hi,

The timer of the CC3200 uses the internal 80 MHz clock as reference. In the technical documents I found information about the accuracy of the fast and slow clock in ppm. My application uses an timer interrupt like in the "Timer example". Every millisecond the interrupt handler is called and a counter is incremented. Now I need information about the accuracy of the internal clock?

Hi Emru,

The accuracy of the internal clock is dependent on the external clocks. if you application requires very strict timing please select an external crystal with higher accuracy

Hi Charles,

In the technical reference manual of the CC3200 it is written that the timer runs with 80 MHz system clock. Now I looked at timer.c and there I also did not find any parameter where I can select the clock source. Maybe you can help me?

Hi Emru,

The clock source is set by default and can't be change. However you can use the prescaler and other timer register parameters to manipulate the operations of the timer.

see chapter 9 of the technical reference manual.

My question from the beginning is how can I get information about the accuracy of the 80 MHz clock?

In the technical reference I find out that the 80 MHz is generated by the 40 MHz with accuracy of 25ppm with PLL.
