Hi,

We have a custom board housing cc3200 for connection over wifi. Currently our application requires that the wifi SSID and password and also a config text file having info like server IP and port number, ADC channel details etc to be flashed along with the main program via Uniflash. Current requirement is to use android app and input the details to cc3200 over wifi. Now I understand that there is the android app SimpleLink starter Pro for wifi provisioning. But using that we can only set the new SSID and password. Our application also requires putting the text file from android app only. We dont want to use uniflash each time the details like server IP and port in the config text changes. So can anyone direct me as to how to start working on this custom android app? I can not directly use the simplelink starter pro as it is, modifications are needed. It would be of great help if some reference source code is available.

Hi Sourajit,

Are you needing help on the CC3200 or App Development side?

For the CC3200 side, there are a number of good example programs available on the SDK: www.ti.com/.../CC3200SDK. From your description, maybe the P2P example would be a good place to start? There are lots of other examples/use cases on the SDK if that isn't what you're looking for.

For the App Development side, I believe you can request the wifi-starter pro source to help guide you at the following link:

Thanks for the reply. I am looking for help in the app development side. It would be great if i can get the wifi starter pro source but the link you provided says content does not exist. May be you can point me to some other link?

Thanks for the link. In the source code only the SmartConfig source available. I need the AP provisioning source as well. Is there any way to get it?

Hi Sourajit,

I haven't personally dug into the WifiStarter Pro app code. Unfortunately that is the only Android app source code available.

Maybe the AP provisioning code portion you are looking for doesn't particularly stand out and some extensive digging through the source is needed.

Additionally the CC3200 Provisioning AP example might provide you with a full picture of how the CC3200 interfaces with the app and the AP provisioning process. processors.wiki.ti.com/.../CC3200_Provisioning_AP
