Part Number: CC3XXXRADIOTEST
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC3100, CC31XXEMUBOOST

Hi all,

when using Radio Tool with CC31XXEMUBOOST error message -101 occurs, see picture below.

Exact process how to reproduce error, after connection:

- Either if data Rate is changed in continous or packetized RX mode (After setting the Data Rate in the TX setup, finish signal emission after signal emission, modify it to another Data rate, and then start signal emission again(TX Test Started) - error occurs aperiodically

- Or in Continuous TX, when launching a signal after setting a specific OFDM data rate

- Error occurs only in TX not in RX mode

Changing to another computer, following error message occurs:

Following Hardware/Software is used:

- CC3100/CC3200 Radio Tool v1.2.5942.19689

- CC31XXEMUBOOST Board Rev.3

- CC3100MOD

  • Hi Mike,

Are you seeing this behavior consistently? Does the issue persist after performing the following actions:

    1. Close the application
    2. Format the CC3100
    3. Reprogram the servicepack
    4. Disconnect and reconnect the CC31xxEMUBoost from the PC
    5. Restart the RadioTest application

    Thank you,
    Ben M
  • Hi Mike,

I assume that you have resolved your issue since I haven't heard back from you. If not, please feel free to post here on this thread or open a new one regarding the issue.

    Thanks,
    Ben M
  • Dear Ben,

it took a while as the test unit is in South Korrea, so we could not follow your proposal with reflashing but send a new unit, that was reflashed and tested in Germany without any issues found. Unfortunately the same error occurs at test house again. Do you have any other proposal?

  • Hi Mike,

I'm going to check with the member of our team that developed the GUI to get more information on the error code. The earliest I'll know will be on Monday. I'll give you an update then.

    Best Regards,
    Ben M
  • Mike,

I did a quick test to see if I could recreate the issue. It looks like I can if I first connect to the CC3100 device with Radio Tool, then I change how the device is powered, stop the transmitting and then start again.

Please check to make sure the power to the device is stable and that nothing is interfering with the communication to the CC3100 while the PC is trying to communicate with it.

    Best Regards,
    Ben M
