CCS/CC3220SF-LAUNCHXL: Azure plugin for latest SDK -- when?

Part Number: CC3220SF-LAUNCHXL

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

Wondering what the status and expected delivery date is for the Azure plugin that works with the latest CC3220 SDK (or, at least a "later" one than 1.6, hopefully 2.x).

"By July 18" was mentioned in an earlier thread, which date has come and gone.

Not intending to pressure you, but it really would help our development if the Azure IoT plugin and the latest TI SDK would play well together... thanks in advance for any status update you are able to share.

All the best,

Jeff

  • Hi Jeff,

Let me check with the team that handles that directly handles that development. We will probably not have an answer until early next week.

  • Hi Jeff,

The release is still planned to occur before the end of the month. I can't give a specific date though.

    Best Regards,
    Ben M
  • Thanks for your reply, Ben.

This release keeps slipping. In my experience, this is for one of two reasons:

    1) Development is active, coders and testers are busy coding and testing, and it's simply taking a bit longer than envisioned to get it right. (OK)

    2) The deadline is slipping because the deliverable is of low priority, and in reality no one is actively working on it. (NOT SO OK)

Can you please help me understand which of these two best fits reality?

This software is very important to our own CC3220 project, the deadline on THAT project is looming, and the combination of the older SDK and the older plugin are full of bugs and pitfalls. Thanks in advance for your honest assessment of whether I can expect the new plugin SOON, or whether I should give up on waiting for the new stuff and bend my pick working around the problems in the current software.

    Thanks, and All the best,
    Jeff
  • Hi Jeff,

I understand this is a priority for you. I can assure you the software development teams are working hard to get these releases prepared and on the web, available to the public. Development is active and the release is very close to being pushed out. I can follow up here and let you know when the release is live on the web.

    Best Regards,
    Ben M
  • Thanks, Ben. Please do let us know when the release is live on the web.
    All the best,
    Jeff
