Does the WL1271 with EVM support AP Mode?

Does the driver / hardware support acting as an AP?  I would like to try to do some ad-hoc communications.  Is there documentation on how to do this anywhere?

Thanks.

Edit: Of course, as soon as I post the question I think the found the answer.  In the WL1271 CLI manual it specifies how to set it into Ad-Hoc mode.

  • Access Point functionality is not supported. However, as you said,  you can do ad-hoc mode.

why does the product description site still state

    Robust Wi-Fi core

    • Supports the soon-to be ratified WiFi Direct™ and Soft AP mode capabilities, extensible to support additional protocols

when Soft AP is clearly not supported?

    Carlos,

Are you saying that the WL1271 driver does not support master mode? If so, is there any plans in  the future to add that functionality?

    Thanks,

    Rick

    Hi David,

The master mode (Soft AP, and WiFi direct) will be supported as part of the MAC802.11 on the AM37x platform, that is planned to be on the middle of 2011

for updates please refer to our wiki page at www.ti.com/connectivitywiki

    What about the question.

The product indicates "Soft AP" is supported.  How can it not be supported and supported?
