Hi,

I am using WL1837MOD WiFi module with NXP's iMX6D processor (Android KitKat 4.4.3) for my ongoing project. We want to stream video content to our one device to another device. for that, we have created p2p go at 5180 freq(n mode) in one device and another device act as a client. Now I am trying to measure UDP throughput in between both devices using the iperf. So I have performed around 18Min of iperf testing. Avg. throughput was around 58Mbits/sec.

Why we are getting such low throughput even if we are using wifi n mode. what can be the problem ??

Please, help us to debug this issue...!!!

Not sure I follow.
60MBPs is the max you will get when using SISO20.
unless you configure your system to use SISO40 (only applicable for 5GHz) and then you may go up to ~100MBPs

You need to follow section 6 in this link:
www.ti.com/.../swra489.pdf

SISO40: use wl18xx.ht.mode=1 (default)
This is probably ok already as it is the default.

In addition, make sure that your wpa_supplicant.conf is set for HT mode.
See for example in this link:
git.ti.com/.../wpa_supplicant.conf

Look for:
p2p_go_ht40=1

And start the GO on a channel that support ht40.

Hi Eyal,

As per your suggestion, I have added p2p_go_ht40=1 in wpa_supplicant.conf. after that, I am trying to create p2p go on ht40 channel like 38(5190) and 46(5230). but it fails to create p2p go with below wpa_supplicant logs:

So, can you share all supported channel list of ht40 in wl1837?

I have also doubt that my device is configured as MIMO: use wl18xx.ht.mode=0, because we are able to run the device in go+station mode. So I just want to verify that thing. for that, I am attaching wl18xx-conf.bin,wl18xx-fw-4.bin, wpa_supplicant file of my device.

From where I can get source code wlconf, we had ported wl1837 on android KitKat(4.4.3) and imx6 nxp platform. so we need an android compatible wlconf source.

Hi,

Can you try using channel 36 instead of 38?

Regarding wlconf, you can get the source directly from:
git.ti.com/.../wlconf

it is standard linux command line code that you should be able to build and use with android as well.
Once you have it built you can dump the content of your wl18xx-conf.bin file and check/set this value.

See section 4 of the wlconf manual.
