Hello everyone,

We are pleased to announce the release of our new ZigBee 3.0 compliant software stack, Z-Stack 3.0.0. This release is currently supported on our CC2530, CC2531, and CC2538 Wireless MCUs, with planned support for future Wireless MCU platforms.

Z-Stack 3.0 includes many enhancements over previous stack versions, including:

Unification of many ZigBee application profiles into a single profile, providing seamless interoperability for all ZigBee 3.0 devices.
The introduction of Base Device Behavior, which defines a common set of mechanisms for network commissioning that will be used by every device.
Updated to the ZigBee PRO 2015 specification, which includes many security enhancements such as optional out-of-band key exchange methods, and other changes like enhanced child device management.

In addition, Z-Stack 3.0.0 will maintain backwards compatibility with all previous ZigBee application profiles by providing configuration options to allow legacy devices to connect to ZigBee 3.0 networks.

Z-Stack 3.0.0 also comes with new-and-improved sample applications. Building on the functionality provided with the ZigBee Home Automation sample applications, we have now added a comprehensive User Interface to the SmartRF05/SmartRF06 platforms that provide users with many run-time configuration options and give real-time data about the status of each device. More information about these sample applications can be found in the Z-Stack 3.0.0 Sample Application User's Guide, provided with the SDK.

As mentioned before, Z-Stack 3.0.0 is a ZigBee 3.0 compliant platform, and it has been certified against the ZigBee PRO 2015 specification, as seen here on the ZigBee Alliance webpage.

This is great. TI is one of the silicon 3.0 compliant platforms: www.zigbee.org/.../
We are one of the promoter of the ZigBee Alliance, and been providing silicon and stacks since its inception, following with latest evolution of the ZigBee specifications.

When I download it from http://www.ti.com/tool/Z-Stack, I get a file Z-Stack without file extension. You have to rename it to Z-Stack.exe to run it for installation.

I had the same problem with Firefox,then I used Chromium and no problem there.

I tried downloading it in Chrome and Internet Explorer and it worked fine, but I also had the same problem when downloading it with Firefox. I will make a note of it in the top post, thanks for pointing this out.

TI won't reveal roadmap on public forum. I suggest you to contact TI local representative to sign NDA to get information.

But again the ZNP without cc2592 support...

If I copy HAL_BOARD_CFG.H from \CC2530EB folder to \CC2530ZNP I get support for cc2592 to my ZNP project?

To support CC2592 in ZNP, you only need to define HAL_PA_LNA_CC2592 in project compile options.

I must to define HAL_PA_LNA_CC2592 option only in project or in source file for ZNP like here

You can define it in project compile option, znp.cfg or, f8wconfig.cfg.

The release note said that it is working on EW8051 9.30.1 (9.30.1)

Can I use EW8051 9.20.1 (9.20.1) with Z-Stack 3.0? Is there any issue if I use previous version?

I did try to compile ZNP firmware. Looks fine now. Wil try sample project file later.

I'm stuck at IAR 9.20.1 now. I did download the latest IAR 9.30.3, but failed to verify license even though the IAR usb dongle is already plug in.
Is it related to my IAR SUA contract expired on 2015-09-11? So does this mean that the current licensed only valid on already installed IAR software?

If your IAR SUA contract expired on 2015-09-11, you cannot use it with latest IAR version. I think you have to revoke license from IAR.

Z-Stack 3.0 was only tested/verified with IAR 8051 9.30.1 and IAR ARM 7.70.1. However, if you are able to build projects without any warnings or errors in an older IAR version, it should probably be fine. I know that at some point the file format changed between IAR versions, so trying to open a newer workspace with an older IAR was not possible, but it must have been with an earlier version.

Looks ok so far. Except error which I also had with Z-Stack 1.2.2a when try to compile sample app and ZNP.

after add #include "mac_radio_defs.h" in MT_SYS.c

Error is cleared.

Hi All,
I m using CC26XX family chipset. Can you please tell me if I can flash Z stack for CC2650? I have tried alot. Even IAR could not help me here.

Z-Stack 3.0 only supports CC253x. For CC26xx, you can only run Z-Stack Home 1.2.2a.

Hi all, thanks for this new version!
Just a quick question (having not done too much research into Z-Stack 3 yet): Is it possible to do IEEE address security blocking? As in a user edits a list of IEEE addresses on the coordinator (trust center), that are allowed onto the network, and anything else is denied?

If you need it, you can ask the device to leave right after it joins network.

Yes that would work, so in the function afIncomingData(), where the incoming data is first made available, put a IEEE address check routine there somewhere, and if the incoming IEEE is not in the list, ignore or ask to leave, right?
