Starterware/TIDC-CC2650STK-SENSORTAG: need help sensorTag with Z-Stack Home Sample Application User’s Guide

Part Number: TIDC-CC2650STK-SENSORTAG
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: Z-STACK, CC2650, SYSBIOS, TIMAC, CC2650STK, CC2531, CC2531EMK

Tool/software: Starterware

I have SensorTag with debug devpack

Useing IAR, Reference Z-Stack Home Sample Application User’s Guide.pdf

But in progressing, error heppend

Error while running "c:/ti/xdctools_3_32_00_06_core/xs"

i just want setting Development environment, use zigbee network.

sorry about my Inexperienced English Proficiency

  • What IAR version do you use?
  • useing 7.40 and 7.80
first, i use 7.80 and change to 7.40, error messege : project file's options were broken and can't open project
    so i reuse 7.80
  • You should use IAR EWARM 7.40.2 to build SensorTag examples in Z-Stack Home 1.2.2a.
  • i use 7.40.2 and before download example to sensorTag,i make project
    but I got an error.

like this so many error and i don't know why this error
  • Try to reintall Z-Stack Home 1.2.2a and build again.
  • i reinstalled z-stack home 1.2.2a and build again
but i got an same error
  • If you have "tirtos_cc13xx_cc26xx_2_21_00_06 (global)" in Configure Custom Argument Variables, try to disable it and build again.

  • Thank you. build succeeded.
    I have another question.
    i don't have SmartRF06board.
so is there another way to check sensorTag zigbee signal?
  • What do you mean " check sensorTag zigbee signal"?
  • i want check that works well without SmartRF06board.
My goal is to build a development environment using ZigBee and sensor Tag.
  • If you mean to run Z-Stack Home 1.2.2a example on CC2650STK, there is a example named SensorTag which is dedicated for CC2650STK.
  • i have just SimpleLink SensorTag Debugger DevPack with sensorTag.
can i run a example named SensorTag?
  • Yes, it's for SensorTag Debugger DevPack with sensorTag.
  • Thank you. I will write if I need another help.
  • You are welcome.
  • A new error has occurred.
I opened SensorTag project and download and debug

Thu Feb 16, 2017 11:30:23: Fatal error: No debug probe found connected to the USB port Session aborted!
    What I can do?
  • You have to change debug probe to XDS110 instead of XDS100v3.
  • It was resolved. I clicked download and debug.
However, there is a new problem as above.
  • What's the information in the Debug Log window?

    This is it.
  • sorry,my project file was wrong.
I downloaded the project file again and slove it.
  • It's good to know you find the problem and solve it.
  • I have a new question.
Is there a way to output characters to the PC screen using serial communication using PuTTY?
  • Yes, you can add UART driver to do it.
  • How can i add UART driver?
  • You can try to refer to CC26xx ZNP project.
  • Thank you very much. I'll try.
  • You are welcome.
  • Can I get some help?
I read the znp guide, but I do not understand it.
Can i get some advice on how to print characters to putty on pc? or is there anything I can refer to?
  • Should I have a CC2531 USB dongle?
  • If you don't have CC2531 USB dongle, you can use CC2650STK and CC-DEVPACK-DEBUGGER as ZNP which you can refer to sunmaysky.blogspot.tw/.../how-to-use-sensortag-cc2650stk-with-cc.html
  • What is your COM port settings in ZTOOL?
  • I set it as above.
    and UART port is com15
  • Do you change UART pins in board file when you build ZNP hex and download it to your CC2650STK?
  • Yes, it is fixed as above.
  • Try to set CTS/RTS pins to unused.

  • I fixed it as above but it still does not work

  • Are you sure you modify Board.h under (C:\ti\tirtos_simplelink_2_11_01_09\packages\ti\boards\SRF06EB\CC2650EM_7ID?
  • Can you take a picture to show me how you connect your CC2650STK to your desktop?
  • It is connected like the picture above.
I knew I would reconnect the 3rd step of the site to CC-DEVPACK-DEBUGGER.
  • Try to remove battery from CC2650STK and test again.
  • Ztool still can not catch it.
I did the znp project. Is not this right?(in C:\ti\simplelink\zstack_home_1_02_02a_44539\Projects\zstack\ZNP\CC26xx)
  • Can you attach your ZNP hex file? I can test it when I can access to my CC2650STK and CC-DEVPACK-DEBUGGER.
  • 2210.znp_coordinator_pro_secure_linkkeyjoin.zip

    I'm sorry I'm late.

I tried it with my friend 's pc and ztool recognized it.

His pc is Windows 10 and my pc is Windows 7.

    Could this be a problem?
  • Your hex doesn't work on my CC2650STK+CC-DEVPACK-DEBUUGER too. I attach mine which works on my CC2650STK+CC-DEVPACK-DEBUUGER for your reference.

    3438.znp_coordinator_pro_secure_linkkeyjoin.zip

  • Thank you. Ztool is connected.
  • You are welcome and it's good to know it works.
