CC2650STK: How to set CC2650STK into ZigBee Mode?

Part Number: CC2650STK
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC2650, Z-STACK, CC2530

Hi all,

I'm stuck with a somewhat silly issue, but no matter how much I search I cannot find anything describing how to set my CC2650STK into ZigBee mode.

Here's a full explanation of the problem:

I have a CC2650STK module, that I want to send sensor data from over ZigBee to my MCU ZigBee.

Now, the board comes originally with a BLE firmware pre-installed, meaning (from what I gathered) that I first need to flash a ZigBee firmware on it. Should be possible to do through the TI SensorTag APP for iOS, but when I go into the firmware download menu and click on the ZigBee firmware the download just never really starts, the speed stays at 0b/s and nothing gets installed. I've tried it with multiple different phones (both iOS and Android) and it was the same on all of them.

In one other forum post I found an infographic saying that to switch to ZigBee I just need to press the RHS button for 3 seconds, but obviously that also doesn't work.

People appear to be posting that I can somehow use Z-Stack to achieve my results, but then there are comments saying that CC2650 is not supported. And, frankly, I have absolutely no idea how to do that because the documentation is basically non-existent.

Can someone please suggest how I can get ZigBee running on this development board? Surely that can't be that hard, but so far all my attempts have been unsuccessful. I also don't have a development cable to connect to my CC2650STK, which, when buying the product appeared to be not necessary for my purposes. However, if I do end up needing to use Z-Stack method, can someone please suggest a step-by-step guide on how to do that, as I have no experience with this framework.

Thank you!

Jonathan
