How to bind two devices (routers) remotely from coordinator OTA in network of 3 devices?

You can use ZDP_BindReq to do it.

Hi,

Let say that I have ZC with short address 0x00, ZR1 with short address 0x01 and ZR2 with short address 0x02.

Should I send two ZDP_BindReq from ZC, one to ZR1 with SRC=0x00 and DST=0x01 and one to ZR2 with SRC=0x00 and DST=0x02 and ZR1 and ZR2 will be bind together?

If you want to bind ZR1 to ZR2 that make ZR1 send message to ZR2, the parameters of ZDP_BindReq should be like the followings:

DstAddr: short address of ZR1
SrcAddress: IEEE address of ZR1
SrcEndpoint: endpoint of ZR1
ClusterID: cluster ID you want to binding
DstAddress: zAddrType_t data structure in Addr64Bit mode and IEEE address of ZR2.
DstEndpoint: endpoint of ZR2

Hi YiKai Chen,

I make changes according to your suggestion but still I cannot bind Sample switch to sample light. Both devices are ZR and another coordinator is sending the ZDP_BindReq.

I'm attaching sniffed packets also, please take a look.

Bind response shows not supported. What are the two device type you do bind request?

Hi YK Chen,

I'm trying to bind sample switch to sample light examples. Both of them are configured as routers with disabled EZ mode. ZC is another sample light code which listen for device annce, ask for IEEE addresses to get enough info to send ZDP_BindReq. I also register Bind_rsp handling in sample switch application and I do not handle in application, I expect to be handled by ZDApp.
Do I need something special to implement on Sample Switch application to handle this request or some configuration is missing?
As far I can see in the code, when sample switch receive bind request should update binding table and that's it.

Are you sure your source and destination addresses of bind request are correct? Source address should be SampleSwitch and destination address should be SampleLight.

Hi YK Chen,

I manage to resolve this issue. It was bug in destination address mode in my code and even simple bug is very hard to debug with little knowledge and take a lot of time to resolve. Your comments halps a lot, thank you.
