Compiler/CC2530: What is Enpoint in z-stack ?

Hello.

Im a beginer with zigbee network.

I see a document has write " EndPoint – The endpoint number 1-240 (0 is reserved). This is the subaddress of the node, and is used to receive data.."

So what exactly endpoint and difference between endpoint and address of node ?

Endpoint is like different port of a single IP.

Hello quang,

A single ZigBee node (coordinator, router, end device) can run multiple applications (light, sensor, switch, etc.) by utilizing endpoints (aka ZigBee device). Each node only need join the network once but the endpoints within that node must go through an individual discovery process as they have different attributes.

so when we need setup two node has same an endpoint ?

It depends on your application. You can group similar functions in one endpoint and others on another endpoint. For example, SampleSwitch OTA use one endpoint for Switch and another for OTA.
