Hi All,

We are using CC2650MODA 6LoWPAN module in one of our design. In datasheet its mentioned that device can be configured using

– UART
– 2 × SSI (SPI, MICROWIRE, TI)
– I2C
– I2S
– Real-Time Clock (RTC)
– AES-128 Security Module
– True Random Number Generator (TRNG)
– 15 GPIOs

But in pin diagram only 15 GPIOs option is provided (image for the same is attached herewith).Please let us know how to configure the device using UART or other available options.

All those pins can be used as GPIO, UART, SSI, I2C, and I2S. It only depends on your pin configuration.

Thank you for your quick response.

The answer is not clear for us. Whether we can use DIO-2 as TX and DIO-3 as Rx?

Please let us any software configuration required?

Yes, you can use DIO-2 as TX and DIO-3 as Rx. You need to define them in your board file like the followings to use them.

#define Board_UART_RX IOID_2
#define Board_UART_TX IOID_3

we are using this module in Mesh control network. Please let us know which and interfaces we can use for Mesh control network and how to configure them.

Hi,
If we are using Mesh network(6LowPAN) which particular host interface (UART,I2C,SPI) i need to use? Whether all the host interfaces are supported ?

Hi,

We are using CC2650MODA as 6LoWPAN in the Mesh networks for avionics application.

Its mentioned in datasheet is CC2650MODA got integrated antenna inside the module. Please let me know if we place the module inside the metal enclosure whether it effects the RF functionality? Also let me know whether inside the enclosure it meets the operating temperature range of -40 to 85 C?

Requesting you to suggest any part number with external antenna (keeping all the other features same as CC2650MODA).

Put CC2650MODA definitely will impact RF performance and it can work between-40 to 85 degrees according to data sheet. If you need external antenna module, you need to look for 3rd party module.

Hi,

We have decided to use CC2650MODA device in our application. we got limited number of pins in our HOST ,Only UART interface is available.Please confirm me that only one interface is enough to control the device.

Because In datasheet its mentioned that device can be configured using

Hi Chen,

Just wanted to know to interface the module what all interfaces needed?The module as such shows only GPIOs in the module datasheet.But there is uart spi etc.

But the the module datasheet do not show which pins act as UART, I2C or SPI

What is the minimum host interface needed can you please clarify?

We are trying to interface the module to imx8 processor.We need to know what peripheral or host interface is required to connect to the processor.

Please clarify.We are in the design stage we need your inputs.

All of pins on CC2650 can be configured as GPIO, SPI, UART or I2C.
