100W LED Street light demo

The PR788 shown in this short clip is a 100W offline AC to DC LED current driver with power factor correction. This design is a two stage converter design with a
universal input* boost PFC stage providing a 240V to 400V DC output and a low side buck stage providing the current source to power the LED’s. This design
has been designed to support up to 30 high brightness LED’s in series up to 900mA average current, while in this demo we have used 3 strings with 30LEDs in
series, driven with a current of 300mA each. So in sum achieving the same result as with a 30LED string powered with 900mA.

MSP430™ TPS62260 DALI LED EVM

This MSP430 based LED lighting solution supports the Digital Addressable lighting Interface, or DALI. DALI was originally defined for ballast control in IEC60929
and was recently with IEC62386 to include the increasingly popular field of LED lighting. In order to address this growing application space TI has provided a
number of evaluation tools and modules like the TPS62260 LED EVM. The TPS62260 LED EVM is used in this demonstration in addition to a DALI daughter board
to translate the between the MSP430 voltage levels and the DALI physical layer.
