TPS62824A: Injected Signal Amplitude for Bode Plot Analysis

Part Number: TPS62824A
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS62130

Hello,

I'm wondering how large an injected signal amplitude should be for Bode plot analysis of a TPS62824A supply circuit. The apps note "How to Measure the Control Loop of DCS-Control™ Devices" (SLVA465A) says on page 3, "For Figure 3, the maximum signal voltage at either C1 or C2 was 2 mVRMS." I understand that this is an example of the TPS62130, but do you recommend 2 mVRMS for the TPS62824A circuit, too?

Best regards,
Shinichi Yokota

  • Hi Shinichi,

It's good to keep the AC signal amplitude low, so that there are no large signal effects. I would recommend to keep it below 2mVRMS to start with. In case you see the measurement is too noisy then you can increase the injected signal some more.

    Best regards,
