TLV62084: EN deglitch time

Part Number: TLV62084

Hi Team,

customer has a question

EN may have some noise, so EN may have some drop.

1. in datasheet, VIL=0.4V max, but if EN drops from 1V to 0.8V, what's the status of TLV62084?

2. Is there deglitch time on EN pin?

Thanks.

  • Hi Given,

    1) I do not think it would be cause any potential issue if the EN drops from 1V to 0.8V for a short duration. There will be some margin before the device is disabled. However, for better reliability it would be recommended to have continuous voltage higher than the EN high threshold.

    2) There will be a delay of 40us after EN= high. Please refer below screenshot:

    Thanks!

  • Hi Sneha,

    Thanks for your reply.

regarding #2, what I mean is how much period that EN goes below VIL threshold or goes above VIH threshold, then device recognize it as a valid low or high logic. For example, if EN is high, but it goes below 0.4V for 1us and then goes back to above 1V, will the device be disabled for 1us, or it will filter the 1us low time. Thanks.

  • Hi Given,

    Okay. I misunderstood earlier.

I understood your question now. I do not find anything mentioned in the datasheet. Let me check this internally and I will give you an update early next week at the latest.

     Thanks!

  • Hi Given,

I checked for this data internally and got the following feedback:

There would be 30ns delay time on the EN pin and it will go through EN buffer stage and then go to some logic gate, where the delay time is ns level. Then it needs to enable the bandgap, it will take some time around tens usec level. Then enables the switch.

I hope this answers your question.

    Thanks!

  • Hi Sneha,

So the deglitch time is ~30ns, right? That is, if EN has spike that below 30ns, device will has no reaction to the spike, right? Thanks.

  • Hi Given,

    Yes, you are right.
