TPS62802: inductor selection configure mode.

the Above part in inductor new part creation it asking mm2 value for foot print but mentioned diamentions are (x,Y) how to conver that x,y value mm into foot print value mm2..

Hi Sathish,

I'm guessing you are working with WEBENCH. You can just enter the 'x' multiplied by 'y' value as the area occupied by the inductor on the board.

i was tried that.but in suggested part what actually mentioned area 5.8mm2,and x1.8mm,y 1.07mm,if multiplied means we got only 4.38mm2.

Hi Sathish,

WEBENCH actually adds 1mm to both x and y parameters to take care of PCB spacing requirements. If you add 1mm to both the x and y dimensions you specified you will get to 5.8mm2.
