UC2825A-EP: Clock IC that can generate external clock to sync multiple controllers?

Below are some general comments related to synchronization of 2 or more PWMs. If a μC is not available to generate the clock signal, option 2 below may be your best choice?

1. Often accomplished by a μC if available in the system?
2. A simple clock IC is a basic 555 timer configured as an astable multivibrator shown in Figure 14 of the data sheet here. Also, see related E2E post here.
3. Set up 2 or more PWMs in "Commander/Responder" configuration such as shown here.
4. SLUA110, SLUA143, SLUA149 and SLUA257 are TI app notes that discuss PWM SYNC and may offer additional help.
