Big endian or Little endian? DLPR300 writing for FLASH.

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DLPC300

Dear All,

I'd like to ask you the writing option of the endian(big or little) for the DLPR300PROM writing to the FLASH by the ROM writer tool. We are  building our DLPC300 original board without DM365.

Which is the writing method of the DLPR300PROM? Is it the Big endian or Little endian?

Thank you and best regards,

Rossinag

  • Dear All,
I'm very sorry to rush. I appreciate it if I can get the answer soon.

With regard to the writing method of the "DLPR300PROM_v1.0.bin" for the FLASH by ROM writer, which is the way?
Is it Big endian or Little endian?
    Thank you for your help.
    Best regards,
    Rossinag
  • Hello Rossinag,

First, the flash interface SPI type. You are expected to maintain or retain the bytes order while writing into the Flash. To your specific question, I think configuring the tool into write in little endian format will not change the order of bytes written to the flash.

Another safer option would be configure the tool to copy 1 byte at a time from the file and write into the flash. This approach not raise questions on Little or Big endian format.
