TPS650732 RESET

To be able to initiate a system-wide (board level) Reset (shutting down all the voltage besides Vsys and AC), is it best to that with a pushbutton switch on /PB_IN, PB_OUT, or POWER_ON?  I currently have POWER_ON pulled high to Vsys so I don’t believe a pushbutton on /PB_IN will work.  BUT, if I pull POWER_ON low that should work as a system-wide reset, correct?  I am not talking about the threshold/nReset function...

Thanks!

  • Once the PMU has started up, pulling /PB_IN low will not shut down the DCDC converters.

You need to pull POWER_ON low, to disable the converters.

The only way you can use the /PB_IN to shutdown the PMU is, detect press on pushbutton with PB_OUT on the processor side.

Based on an interrupt generated by PB_OUT, the processor can pull POWER_ON low and shut down the DC/DC converters and LDOs.
