TLV62569: SPEC VIH/VIL definition on EN pin

Part Number: TLV62569
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS62065

Hi Sir,

For TLV62569, the VIL definition is min = 0.4V, and this definition is different from other IC that they will define VIL as max.

for example, TPS62065, the VIL of EN is 0.4V, and it was defined on the max value while TPS62569 put 0.4V on min value.

Could you help to advise why TPS62569 use a different way to define the VIL?

Thanks,

Patrick

  • Hi Patrick,

it's my pleasure to help you.

In the TLV62569 datasheet, VIL is specified as" Low-level threshold at EN pin". You need hence to think of VIL as the threshold of a comparator which detects the input voltage as LOW logic value when this is lower than VIL.

The VIL value itself shifts depending on the operating conditions, and in the particular case of the TLV62569 datasheet it is specified over the recommended Vin range and at 25degC junction temperature. The minimum value that VIL will assume because of its shift is called VIL min.

In the TPS62065 instead, VIL is defined as "Low level input voltage", that's why VIL max is instead the maximum level below which you are sure that the signal will be recognized as a LOW logic value.
