Valparaiso University will be offering an online course this fall open to all interested in becoming familiar with microcontroller (MCU) basics and how to interact with an MCU. The class will utilize the new TI MSP430FR6989 LaunchPad™ development kit and a pre-assembled lab kit to be made available on element14.com.  The topics will cover the very basics of what an MCU is and will work to develop even a complete beginner into a quick LaunchPad expert.  This is a call to all hands-on learners, as the course will jump straight into laboratory assignments, giving all students the opportunity to interact with the LaunchPad from the first course on!  The course title is “An Introduction to Microcontrollers and the C Programming Language” and is being taught by Valparaiso’s Electrical and Computer Engineering Department Chair, Mark Budnik.  Enrollment for the class begins Sept. 7 and the class will get started on Sept. 21.You can register at this link.
