Before even embarking on their careers, interns are making a name for themselves at TI by innovating, creating and showing off their technical skills.

Winners of this year's "DIY with TI: Intern Edition" competition.

Take the “Wingman” device, for example. This intern do-it-yourself (DIY) project offers accident and theft detection for cyclists using an MSP432 LaunchPad and five other TI parts. It can send you a text if your bike has been stolen and tell you its location. It can also send a text to your emergency contact if you are in an accident.

The aptly named Wingman was created by Taumer Anabtawi, Tiffany Tso and William Stevers and garnered two awards on Tuesday – the Leadership Choice award and Top MSP432 LaunchPad Design Award. Wingman was among 10 creative projects demoed during the annual "DIY with TI: Intern Edition" event at TI headquarters.

“The interns continue to push the level of innovation every year. I’m really proud of everybody for the work they have done,” said Trey German, a LaunchPad applications manager and well-known DIYer himself. “It’s clear that they are all going to go on to do great things.”
