What can you do in 4:32?

Over the past two weeks, you have learned a great deal about the ultra-low-power MSP432 MCU platform through a vast collection of collateral and resources. But we know you can only learn so much by reading material, so we made sure the new MSP432 LaunchPads were available to every customer right from the start! If you were quick enough to order the MSP432 LaunchPad from the TI store right away, your LaunchPad might already be well on its way to your door step.

Now it's time to turn the theoretical MSP432 MCU expert into a practical expert in just 4 minutes and 32 seconds? Whaaat? 4 minutes and 32 seconds, you ask? That’s right! With the new TI Cloud Tool ecosystem, we’ll show you how to find all of the MSP432 MCU resources you need and then program your brand new MSP432 LaunchPad in just 4 minutes and 32 seconds! No gimmick, see it for yourself!

TI provides a number of cloud-based software development tools including Resource ExplorerCCS Cloud and PinMux.  All these tools can help you get started very quickly with MSP432 MCUs. For our 4:32 experiment, let’s focus on the first two.

Resource Explorer

The cloud-based version of Resource Explorer gives you instant access to MSPWare and our other software collection. From a simple URL in your browser, you can navigate through the complete MSPWare collection, where you can find all of the examples, libraries, documentation, application notes and out-of-box demo applications available for any MSP MCUs.  The big advantage here is that you don't have to go, find and install any of those items. Simply select the MSP-EXP432P401R board or search for “MSP432” and Resource Explorer will discover all the available content from the cloud and makes it available for immediate use. Another advantage of working in the cloud is that you don't have to worry about not having the latest documentation or examples as it is always the latest version.

CCS Cloud

Another tool is CCS Cloud, which is a simplified development environment. You can import any of the examples from Resource Explorer into CCS Cloud and start using and modifying them. From CCS Cloud, you can then program the LaunchPad and run the application. Since your projects are all stored in the cloud you can work from anywhere. Simply log into the cloud and all your projects and source files are available in your CCS Cloud workspace.

There you have it - playing with the out-of-box demo and programming your MSP432 MCU all from a browser window. Oh, what’s that sound? Could that be the delivery man knocking on your door? Off you go, have fun with your MSP432 LaunchPad and get on the TI Cloud. We’ll time you!
