I have put together some information for you to kindly send
to your TI expert for his feedback (below). Please note, the test is NOT done
using TI’s EVM board but a test board developed by Eroad (see below UUT).
Please note that U1 is disabled with J1 thoughtout the whole of these test
results.
Your help is very much appreciated and it would be good to
understand if or what is the problem? If you need any further information
please don’t hessiate to ask?

+5V PSU used to power UUT (J2)
Tek Isolated scope connected to 5V PSU with series 0.22R
current sense resistor. PSU then connects to UUT (J2)
UUT with Picoscope connected (c/w Lithium polymer battery
connected)
Scope trace with battery charging @227mA
CHA (x1 probe) = BAT+
CHB (x1 probe) = BAT+ (AC Coupled)
Scope trace with battery charging @227mA, Q1 gate shows no
interaction with DPPM
CHA (x1 probe) = Q1
Gate
CHB (x1 probe) = BAT+ (AC Coupled)
Scope trace indicates 5V PSU current into UUT
