EV2400: Only VOLTEN LED on after attempting firmware upgrade.

After a software update in the EV2400, only the VOLTEN led is on.

The device is not detected in WINDOWS 10. Only JP7 in EV2400 shorted (before plug USB) -> Device detected, and attempting to use "EV2400_Updater_v0032 -s"

resulted in all 3 LEDs turning on, and the device was restored (version 0.28 is displayed), normal operation.

However, the next day, only one LED is on again on the device.

Repeat yesterday attempting to use "EV2400_Updater_v0032 -s" (with shorted JP7 in EV2400)

device remains in the initial position (Only VOLTEN Led on), not detected in WINDOWS.

Hello Ihor,

Did you remove the short on JP7 after the update and power cycle the EV2400?

Yes, I did it. And more than once.
And also... Today (day three) the device started working again.... 
And right after turning on the USB.... Strange. Yesterday I tried to connect it to another computer - only one LED VOLTEN was on.

What will happen tomorrow? Do we only work on odd days?

We managed to fix the bug.... By replacing the capacitors C42, C43 with 47pF (instead of 12pF). It is also strange that there was no such bug in version 0.18 EV2400. However, it is not possible to roll back, because the 0.28 version is located on the page www.ti.com/.../EV2400 under the link to version 0.18...

Good to know that you have it working. Did you refer any documentation to change the capacitor values?

v0.18 firmware is available for download and has a different link on the referenced page. Let us know if you continue to have problems downloading v0.18. We can put in a ticket to get this addressed.

Shirish, did I help you? Help me too, please... One question: How to make a non-working example in the BQ769x2 Calibration and OTP Programming Guide (Rev. A) (chapter 2.9.1) a working one? In other words, to work with the EV2400, the bqcomm program module is required. Otherwise, why present such an example at all?

Hello Ihor,

The bqComm reference is to any host system that will communicate with the bq product. It does not have to be a EV2400. The reference to EV2400 is probably because it was used for testing the code. I would suggest that you start a new thread with BQ769x2 in the subject to see if someone can provide more information.
