CC2640R2L: OAD with BLE5STACK

Hi,

We are building a device to which we'd like to add OAD capabilities, using an external flash memory.

I've seen some directives on how to add OAD to an existing projects, but most of it seems to be out of date and tailored to the ble stack (assume it's ble 4x), not the ble5 stack.

Do you have any guidance available to use OAD together with the ble5 stack?

    Hey Patrick,

    We are no longer recommending enabling OAD on BLE5 stack projects on the CC2640R2. Put simply, there is not enough memory on this device to support OAD and we have consequently removed any OAD example project from the SDK for BLE5 stack and the CC2640R2.

    I would suggest taking a look at our newer generation parts if BLE5 and OAD is a requirement (link here for some options)

    Hi Patrick,

    We do not support OAD over BLE5 for the CC2640 device. The CC2640 will quickly run out of memory if you try to do this. We will be happy to support you running OAD over BLE4 on the CC2640, or you can try OAD over BLE5 on the CC26X2 device family.
