Part Number: TPS62140
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TLV62130, TLV62150
Hey team,
I'm doing a power project that requires a drop-down from 12V to 5V @ 1.8A, with BOM cost being a key careabout then size then efficiency. I notice on Webench that the both the TLV62140 and the TPS62140 are recommended, with the TPS62140 being markedly better with a smaller size and ~$0.30 less BOM cost than the TLV62130/62140 (not to mention slightly higher IC cost). I was curious why this is and if this is the case, in what circumstance would the TLV part be chosen over the TPS? This is purely for educational purposes, so please feel free to provide as much scrutiny/details as desired. I'll likely switch out my design for the TPS counterpart, as I just came across this and am wondering why I didn't pick this sooner!
Thanks in advance
