Trying to run Simple peripheral observer project from SDK release 2.20 in IAR workbench ARM 8.20.2 using the IAR I-jet debugger.

I can't get the TI-RTOS object profiler to work, I see the following from the task object viewer tabs:

Hi Kevin,

This is a known issue related to XDCTOOLS and the BLE-Stack's auto sized heap mechanism.
Thankfully there is a workaround posted here:
processors.wiki.ti.com/.../CC2640R2_Porting_Projects

Just search for "When using ROV Classic and auto sized heap, the ROV may generate an exception about reading from and INVALID address" on the linked page.

Though the text says SDK 1.40, and 1.50, the fix is still relevant.

Hi Sean,

That solved the Invalid address issue but I'm still not seeing all my tasks listed, I even tried another untouched example project (Simple peripheral)

The only tasks I seem to ever get to appear are the Idle Task and the iCall task, my application tasks never show up e.g. Simple Peripheral task.

I'm using XDCTOOLS version 03_50_03_33

Do you know why this is?

Ah Once I hit a breakpoint I see all my tasks :) thank you!

Hi Kevin,

Yes, you will need to wait until after BIOS_start() to observe the tasks, as the heap is not fully setup before then.
