CC8531: How to connect four slaves to one master device in PurePath?

Part Number: CC8531

I recently had some questions about using PurePath (CC8531)

The specific situation is as follows.

The document (CC85xx Family User’s Guide) say CC8531 can use 4 channels and one master device can connect up to four slaves.
Therefore, I try to connect the slaves that have the upstream (stereo microphone) to one master that has the downstream (stereo headphone).
The purpose is to output the sound from the slave's microphone to the speaker of the master device.
I can't hear any sound in the master device. If I set the master with the downstream (stereo microphone), I can hear the sound, that input from slaves, in the master.
But I can set only the maximum slave count up to two in the Radio menu of PurePath Wireless Configurator.

In conclusion, my question is:

1. The master device only receive the mic stream from slaves and output the sound to the speaker of the master.
The slaves only transmit the mic signal to the master. Can I set the master only for receiving the slaves' mic and output the sound to the master's speaker?

2. Can I set the master to the maximum slave count to four with the downstream (stereo microphone)?

Thanks in advance.

  • Hi Inseob,

To be able to connect 4 slaves with upstream audio to a single master, you must use mono microphones. The master configuration must be "4ch output base station". The master does not mix the audio, that must be handled externally of the CC85xx.
