CC2640R2F: ble is can't be paired while enabling continuous adc

Hello Team,

Currently am using simplelink cc2640r2f module. Reading adc value and send it through bluetooth, both function works but the problem is am unable to pair it with device.When I comment adccontionus part from the code pairing works fine. In one thread it is seen that somebody has used aux ram to tackle this problem , but I don't know how.

1) If you suspect a heap issue, please debug using this guide:

2) If you want to use the cache as ram you can see this guide:

3) Pairing faile 23 (=0x17) is the bleTimeout error (defined in bcomdef.h).

4) Could you post a sniffer log of this?

Hello Marie,

Thanks for replying , How do I get sniffer log(is there any app? if there is, please name one)?Tried increasing both heap and stack this time, it say it is advertising but it is not showing on my phone.For your information am using project zero in ble stack and added adcbufcontionus to it.

1) Did you use the TI-RTOS example version of adcbufcontinuous?

2) How do you send the value?

3) If you used the TI-RTOS version - Can you share the application code?

Anand,

The callback function in adcbufcontinuous is called from an interrupt context. This will preempt the ble stack task. Refactor your code to only send an event in the callback and handle the ADC result processing in task context instead. I believe this will solve your issue. You can also consider reducing the sampling interval in addition.

2)using DataService_SetParameter(DS_STRING_ID, sizeof(initString), initString) function , instead of I gave microVoltsBuffer of adccallback function.

Hi Erik,

I didn't get what you actually meant. Should I modify adc as an event instead of interrupt?. If I just want to send data periodically ,What are the modifications I need to change?.As I said ble and adc functions works no problem, Only problem that has been shown so far is pairing issue.It shows time out error without showing passkey.

You need to profile heap and inspect the sniffer trace to figure out where the problem occurs. This could be related to exhausted resources (heap, system stack (CSTACK) overflow, task stack overflow or processing time). Also time the duration of adcBufCallback. I would move that processing to task context instead of interrupts context (SWI).

A good alternative is to implement the ADC function in the sensor controller. Refer to the academy training's for more details:

Hello Erik,

I did the project,And I got high or low value based on the threshold, What if I wants to measure it continuously, like measuring battery. As far as I know it generate events based on the threshold . Is there any workaround ?

I finally made it work.using SCS, I called adc value directly from adcleveltrigger structure,when ever I want it.
