Local firewall is turned off, but I cannot disable anti virus software.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Ray

  • Hi Ray,

It appears that your Windows system policies do not allow hashing/encryption algorithm being used to verify the checksum.

You can try the following steps to fix it:

    1. Open Windows Control Panel > Administrative tools > Local Security Policy

    2. In the left pane, select Local Policies > Security Options

    3. In the right pane, select ‘System Cryptography: Use FIPS compliant algorithms for encryption, hashing and signing’

    4. Double click on this and set it to disabled if it is enabled. Please see attached image.

    5. Restart the machine and perform installation again.

    Thanks,
    JC

  • Thanks for the reply, JC.

I can't access Local Policies.  I got one of the IT guys to run as administrator and he got in, but he was unable to change the setting as the Disable button was grayed out.  I'll talk to head of IT tomorrow.
