Hello I have this working on the bench and is looking OK. Can you check a couple of points below. Noam Levy said: The board does not shift to pre-charge current when simulated battery voltage is low, and max current is about 80% of the calculated…

I don't find UC2906 and UC3906 EVM that makes more difficult for those NRND parts. Please measure the current sense pin on the IC to IC ground, it is 250mV. I am thinking the charging or load current may go through the sensing line and make the error…

Which reference design are you referring to? Note that the bq24450 now has an EVM orderable for its evaluation: http://focus.ti.com/docs/toolsw/folders/print/bq24450evm-691.html . We have created this EVM for your customer to use for their evaluation…

I would say the functions of UC3906 are same as bq24450. UC3906 is a very old part. bq24450 is a new silicon. Also, bq24450 EVM is avaible. You can use that EVM as reference to debug your board. The EVM link: http://focus.ti.com/docs/toolsw/folders…

It sounds like there may be a flakey connection on your breadboard. Try ohming out the nodes without power applied to make sure all the resistors in the feedback path are connected. We now have an EVM available that can help you evaluate this IC: http…
