Part Number: BQ29200 Hello, we are prototyping some battery management circuits that use a combination of an over/under voltage protection IC with the BQ29200 for cell balancing on a 2S 18650 LIPO pack. We are effectively using the circuit in figure 11…

Part Number: BQ29200 Hi. My goal here is to implement the IC in a circuit using 12V as it's charging voltage. To my understanding of the datasheet, the IC itself does not draw any significant amount of current from whatever source. Then, is it…

Part Number: BQ29200 Hi Team, I have got some questions for BQ29200 that need your help. 1. I see the OVP is 4.35v, what will BQ29200 do if the voltage exceed 4.35v? 2. The range of cell balancing 7.6V - 8.4V, what will happen if the max voltage…

Hi Mario, The bq29200 can perform automatic voltage-based cell imbalance correction by modifying the loading of each cell. Balance can start when the cell voltages differ by > 30 mV nominally and stops when the difference between the cells is 0 mV…

In the datasheet in Section 9.3.1, "External Cell Balancing", there is an expression Ibal=Vcell/Rcb_ext. How does this expression may be true, if the external transistors (figure 11) can not be completely open, and the drain-source voltage is equal…
