  • RE: BQ24610: BQ24610 Charging Indicator STAT1 blinking

    TAO HU1
    TAO HU1
Hi, Ning Thank you for your reply. “ input current is indeed in the jump” is caused by STAT1 led blinking. When the STAT1 LED is on, the bq24610 can charge normally, so the programmed power supply has an output current. When the STAT1 LED is off…

I'm still missing the Altium design files but at least I've found the 2nd answer regarding the battery gauge (BQ3060) in the PDF schematic contained in the zip. I didn't expect it to differ from the one downloadable on the PMP40294 webpage.

Hi Fredrik, sorry, we do not have an apps note or s/w snippet to share at the present time for passive cell balancing scheme using the bq769x0. However, document SLUA509( inside of product folder bq3060), that gives an in-depth detail on External Cell…

Anthony, I did not find the AFE SC Dsg Cfg 2 parameter in the bq3060 documentation. The latest revision to the TRM on the web is from October 2013. Anyway, this parameter does not apply to the bq3060. Tom

Part Number: BQ24170 Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ3060 Hi, Below a charging circuit using the BQ24170 that constantly flashes the STAT pin and has a Vref of 4V, its supposed to be a max of 3.33V? What would cause this as all the component values…

Yea, but the thing is that the battery pack with bq3060 has no pull ups, so I cant remove pull-ups from my board, it must work with the old battery packs too. I guess I have no choice.

In the image added the i2c schematic is shown. In the first schematics, as I have expalined, each slave (each bq3060) SDA and SCL is connected to TCA port 0 and port 1. With this scheme, the system doesn´t work correctly. In the second schematics, all…

Good to know. Thank you. Any idea what the time constant is? The bq3060 is ~ 1 minute, but the appendix B lead me to think the bq40z60 might be closer to a few seconds. Is it somewhere in the TRM and I'm just missing it?

Simon We do not have specific FETs to recommend. We have used the PFET on the bq3060 EVM for cell balancing. A FET comparable to this will work for Cell 1 and a comparable NFET will work for Cells 2 - 4. Tom
