Part Number: BQ40Z80 Hello TI team,
we are trying to use BQ40Z80 based BMS with BUK9Y1R3-40HX MOSFETs for short-circuit protection.
There is a problem with the delay time. The delay times SCD1 and SCD2 are set to 0 microseconds but the actual delay time…
Part Number: BQ40Z80 Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQSTUDIO Hi Team, I have a couple of questions regarding both internal and external cell balancing with BQ40Z80. I have completed a couple of learning cycles with my 4S battery and have successfully…
Part Number: BQ40Z80 Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ40Z50 Hello, I am currently using the BQ40Z80 for my application but am wondering if there are any other chips I should look into given the following design requirements.

Part Number: BQ40Z80 Other Parts Discussed in Thread: EV2400 , BQSTUDIO Hello teams,
I make partial cycles with 4 batteries and after 100 partial cycles I make a complete cycle. After the full cycle, I read the GG datas. For 2 of these batteries, the number…
Part Number: BQ40Z80 Hello Dear TI team, Pin 15 is used as DISP, and an external SW is attached between Vss. When SW is pressed, it is shorted to Vss. What is the Low threshold voltage in that case? Also, what is the high threshold voltage when the SW…
Part Number: BQ40Z80 Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQSTUDIO , EV2400 I'm using Battery Management Studio to flash and calibrate a lot of battery packs with an integrated BQ40Z80. Can you provide a clear overview of how others do this? A few questions…
Part Number: BQ40Z80 I'm looking through the documentation but I see no declaration for maximum readable cell voltage.
I do see the recommended operating conditions give a max of 5V per cell as well as an absolute max of 35V on any cell tap pin.

Hi Chet,
I have not seen this solution before for getting the bricked boards to program, I will look into this.
Regarding programming the bq40z80 units without bqStudio or EV2400, this is possible using the Flashstream files. This will allow the gauges…
Part Number: BQ40Z80 Hi,
I was wondering what controls the SMBCEN and SMBDEN signals in Figure 6-3. Pin Equivalent Diagram 2?
From Page 7 of https://www.ti.com/lit/ds/symlink/bq40z80.pdf?ts=1710964557561&ref_url=https%253A%252F%252Fwww.google.com%252F#…
Hi Shubham,
The schematic sent seems to be set up correctly for the PRES pin.
Is it possible for a scope capture to be taken of the PRES pin that could be altering this measurement?
