Hello Thomas,
Good day.
I have another question regarding the current limit range for the BQ77915. Is there any way to determine the exact value of the lowest current limit within the range? Additionally, are there any characteristics or graphs available…
Part Number: BQ77915 Tool/software: Kindly provide design formula for selecting current sense resistor, balancing resistor and gate resistor for BQ77915 Controller.
Part Number: BQ77915 Tool/software: Hello E2E Experts,
God day.
I would greatly appreciate it if you could review the attached schematic for any necessary corrections or improvements. The schematic is attached to the next message in PDF format with the…
Part Number: BQ77915 Tool/software: Hello! I wonder, what would happen if I choose Rini to be less than 33ohm for a 4.2V /cell system, i.e. balancing current exceeding 50mA. I am fairly new to electronics but will this hurt the IC?
Best,
Stefan
Part Number: BQ77915 Tool/software: I received answer for cell balancing.
All of these essentially boil down to Ohm's law, V = I*R.
For the balancing resistor Vcell / (Rbal + Rin + Rin), as mentioned in the image you shared:
According to the datasheet…

Hello Marv,
The current path of the cell balancing current goes through three resistances, so the current would be 4.2-V / (33-Ohm + 12-Ohm + 33-Ohm) = ~53.85-mA.
Best Regards,
