Could you send the schematic over? Or describe how the FET is being used in the application? If it is low frequency and just acting as a load switch, it is possible that you just need to use a lower resistance FET.

You can use many different FETs with the DRV8301. The CSD18533Q5A are used on the booster pack because they fit the design parameters of the system (24V, 14A peak).
