Do these devices have internal clamp diodes on the output? I do not expect output currents of more than 10mA from the DAC and so this may be sufficient if there are internal clamp diodes to prevent the output swinging…

Would it be acceptable to use a ferrite bead on the REFIN pin? The bead I am thinking of (BLM18KG700JH1D) has a DC resistance of max 22 milliohm. I obviously do not want to affect the reference voltage accuracy.
