Part Number: DRV8251A Tool/software: Hi Sir,
we are facing IN1 and IN2 input signals.
Initially we are giving IN1 and IN2 as High (3.3V), and we are giving IN1 or IN2 as low (0.0V) from MCU based on Motor forward or reverse direction requirement.
Problem…
Part Number: DRV8251A Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DRV8231A , DRV8231 Tool/software: Good day,
Looking through the data sheet for the DRV8231A and DRV8251A, I noticed a recommended peak current for IPROPI. Using equation 1, this would mean the recommended…
Hi Mark,
Yes, Vref can be larger than Vipropi. The minimum Ripropi would be the value makes the ITRIP value close to the overcurrent protection trip point (3.7A).
No clamping will push current from the VREF pin.

Hi Maarten,
Is the C505 10uF cap used for filtering on IPROPI? Have you tried testing without this cap?
Does the brushed-DC motor have a large inductance? How long are the traces from the output pins to the load?
Have you tried increasing the decoupling…
Part Number: DRV8251A Tool/software: I am working on a commercial application for the DRV8251A. I'm hoping for some technical support from TI but I cannot share any details on the public forum because of intellectual property and client confidentiality…
Part Number: DRV8251A Tool/software: We have a simple although I think unusual application for a DRV8251A. We do not use PWM (either generated internally or externally to the device). We simply generate current pulses in a resistive load of approximately…
Part Number: DRV8251A Hi TI,
I'm working on FMEA for coil driver.
I can only assume the worst-case after shorting random pins, so anything can happen. Your assessment could help me with fault diagnostics, maybe identified faults are no longer the…
Part Number: DRV8251A Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DRV8251EVM Hello, I'm planning to use the DRV8251A to drive a BDC motor, replacing the DRV8432. On the previous version of the schematic (not my design)
it shows snubber circuits, with a note…
Part Number: DRV8251A Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DRV8251 Tool/software: Is it possible to back up the DRV8251DDAR IC or a similar H-Bridge IC and use it in parallel? Can a redundant H bridge structure be installed?
