  • RE: DRV8806: EVM for this device

    Pablo Armet
    Pablo Armet
Hi Nicholas, The customer can use the DRV8804EVM to evaluate the DRV8806. The DRV8804 has similar functionality as the DRV8806 and both have the same RDSon. Below is a table comparing the two devices.

Hi JoFu, Is there anything else connected to the IP0/OUT4 net to provide 34V? The DRV8804 is an open drain output and will create a low impedance path (<1 Ohm) to GND when activated.

Hi Ishida-san, What is the load current per solenoid? The DRV777 may also work, but it depends on the load current per solenoid. Other devices that could work are the DRV8804 and DRV8860, but the cost is much more. These two devices have higher…

Hi Eli, There are two options to consider; the DRV8804 and DRV8860. Both have serial interfaces. The DRV8860 may be the better option as it has 8 outputs and can automatically PWM the coil for power savings if desired. The devices are SPI like…

Rick-san, I'm sorry, there are no specific waveform. For a customer to prepare, a power supply changes with an application. Start-up of DRV8804 had a case as unstableness in one customer. Therefore I questioned whether there wasn't a care point…

Hello Pavlin, Yes, you can potentially drive a unipolar stepper motor with the DRV8711. For unipolar steppers, I would also suggest you take a look at the following devices: DRV8803, DRV8804, DRV8805, and DRV8806.

Hi Jacky, If the COM node can be seperated, then, it can be driven by DRV8825. If not, you can use DRV8803 DRV8805 or DRV8804 as you want , the interfaces are different. Note this is a voltage driving motor without the need of current regulation…

Hi Binu, TI has a few devices designed to drive unipolar stepper motors (DRV8803, DRV8804, DRV8806, DRV8844). None of them have microstepping built in.
