if ignore MSP430 the EVM is workable? have any side effect?
we only need to connect (SCS, SCLK, SDATA) pin

The DRV8823EVM does not include stepper motor control.
The DRV8821EVM does include stepper motor control. The code for the DRV8821EVM could be modified to send serial commands instead of STEP pulses.
