Part Number: DRV8837
dear ti expert,
i am using drv8837 to drive DC motor, i see that if both inputs to DRV8837 is high, it is brake . i wonder what is the purpose of brake ,just using to control the duty cycle of the driver's output(generally, from…
Part Number: DRV8837 Dear all,
Could you please help confirm if DRV8837/38 is suitable for smartphone LRA/ERM? customer want fast start and stop function in this application.
Thanks.

Hi Team,
Customer want to check if it's possible for DRV8837 to use a complementary pwm input at IN1 and IN2 control the motor? Could you kindly give some comments?
Thanks and Best Regards,
Will
Part Number: DRV8837 Hi team
The datasheet shows VIH at room temperature for input pins. How much is the maximum VIH over recommended teperature range?

Saito
Hi Rick-san,
Thank you for your answer. I agree that DRV8837 can output 1.8A continuous current because of below calculation.
Iout_max = SQRT(( Tj_max-Ta_max ) / RthetaJA / Ron) = SQRT((150-85)/60.9/0.33)) ~ 1.8A

Saito

Hi Sirs,
Could you please help my customer confirm the following design questions about DRV8837 and DRV8871?
1. We would like to use DRV8837 VM pin to detect Motor current on…
Hi Dharmesh,
The devices are similar with a few exceptions related to current:
The DRV8837 has lower RDSon, allowing more current before thermal shutdown.
The DRV8837 has a higher overcurrent protection trip point, which can be valuable if capacitors…
Hello user4968441,
This would not be recommended for this device. For the 12V/2A motor please use another device rated to handle your specs, you can look at our portfolio here.
The DRV8837 is rated to 1.8 max drive current, if you are using the device…
Hi Jim,
Yes, it possible. But the DRV8837 may not be the best device depending on the application.
Can you provide more details on your application?
What load are you driving? What is your desired PWM frequency? What features of the DRV8837 are…
Part Number: DRV8837 Hi team,
Customer will use DRV8837 in the condition of VM=9V. They will connect a capacitor between OUTA and OUTB for reducing back EMF.
Could you check the maximum capacitance that can be connected between OUTA-OUTB?
I think…
